Does this OEM oil cooler look new?
I just received a new oil cooler from brown Santa. Will be installed this weekend, but the finish is a little unsettling. Does this look kosher to y'all? The plating on the top surface looks incomplete around the outer edges and especially where circled. Is it cause for concern? Came from a recommended supplier of Ford OEM stuff.

Thanks! After reading your response, I did check some Google images. Odd that so many show the same irregularities on the plating. Kinda makes me wonder why it is so consistently inconsistent. Whether some kind of QC issue.

Maybe it is the opposite of what you are thinking....
It looks like it has been pressure tested to me -- something they should have done with all of them, unfortunately for some that have had to do the job twice...
Did it come in a factory new box from a known source?
Mine looked like it just came off an assembly line (as in untested).
