2020 Lariat Sport delivery

I had purchased a 2019 SD 2 1/2 weeks ago but unable to take delivery due to the tailgate recall and the dealer didn’t know how long until they would get the parts so I worked them and ended up with this. It’s very close to what I wanted just wish it had power boards, and in the end only cost me about $3000 more and had a $2500 higher MSRP. Im very happy with the deal I got! Only put about 30 miles on it but first impression is very favorable. I came out of a 2016 SD Lariat, and made a few comparisons I’ll include below. 10 speed felt pretty good, I’m guessing it will get even better with a few miles on it. Steering is definitely lighter than my 2016, and fit and finish is very good from what I’ve seen so far. I tried to drive the same both ways, and mileage jumped from 15.9 on the 2016 to 18.2 on the 2020, very very unofficial but good to see the jump in mpg. B&O isn’t top shelf, but better than the Sony system in the 2016.
Comparisons to the 2016-
Height to front wheel well- 41” on both
Rear wheel well- 2016 42” 2020 44”
At matching speeds the 2020 was just over 100 rpm lower, at 70 in 10th gear it was around 1500-1550 with the 3.55 gears. Only gripe I’ve got so far is I don’t understand Ford building a “Sport” package all blacked out and putting raised whitewall tires on it instead of blackwalls. Planning on putting 37” on anyway but very confusing to me.

Beautiful truck. I do envy you guys that live in climates where a black truck looks good for more than a year. Pacific NW isn't one of them.

Sanded roads in the winter , which sticks a lot of road grime to the paint. So anytime you wash your vehicle you are micro scratching the paint with the abrasive mix. Perfect world is to have 2 Super Duty's. A winter and summer model.

They use sand, salt & brine here in Jersey. I just go to the local coin operated car wash and pressure wash it before heading over to the hand wash car wash (NO machines). My black car looks good. I've been building/eyeballing a Chrome Package & Black 2020 F350 FX4 Lariat 7.3L SC LWB since the Ford site went live, LOL ... don't mess up my dream man! hahahaha!!!

I actually have it the same, but opposite to you. I get salt and sand on the top side of the truck from the ocean it’s amazing how far the salt carries on the wind. If it’s parked for a week you can barely see out the front windshield from the salt. Only nice thing is the salt breaks down with a heavy spray so I always power wash it off really well before I start rubbing on it.

No way would I do that. LOL Great looking truck, as well. We're a little to rural to have access to car washes. Of course the road dept. using 1/2 minus ( embellished, a little) to sand the roads doesn't help either.

Great looking truck, congratulations.
I'm not clear on how it was $2500 more MSRP, but you paid $3k more. Also, this whole 2020 height thing is getting really confusing, I just measured my 19 f250 yesterday, to the the top of the wheel well openings it measured only 1/4" higher front and rear than your 20.

Is that a 250 or 350?

It’s a 250 with an FX4 and high capacity trailer tow package. It IS very confusing, but I can take pics of where I measured if you want them. I’m wondering if either of the packages make a difference as it seems to measure different from others I’ve seen, or if maybe the springs actually sag a little after a year or so of use. Just checked the Lasco video, to the top of the bed I got the same 58” they did.

Edit- the rebates on the 2019 were $5500 vs $3500 on the 20 so that is the pricing difference.

You must of had a PCO to come up with those rebate totals.

I'm still confused lol, my first thoughts were yeah, maybe after few miles it would show the claimed 1/2" drop on the front, and maybe the HCTT package makes the rear higher, keeping it close to the pre 20 height. But now you say you measure the same as the Lasco truck at the bedrail, the Lasco video showed a 1-1/2" difference in the rear compared to the 19. How can you be the same as my 19 at the rear fender but the same as the Lasco 20 at the bedrail hahaha. I've never measured at my bedrail like they did, but did measure tailgate to ground, open and closed.

Beautiful truck! I dont get the white lettering either it's a huge pet peeve of mine as well. I would have dealer flip the tires personally. Otherwise love the rest of the look.
