17 F250 Headliner

Well I got my upfitters installed and they work great! Now the bad, my XLT came with the medium console and not the standard. I attempted to retro fit the console into the headliner and it got hacked up and looks terrible. Now I am in the market for a headliner (thank you ford). The 15-present F150 headliner looks identical to ours and is several hundred cheaper. Does anyone know if they are in fact the same?

Got the Headliner (from a 2017 F150 VIN) ordered and is supposed to be here on Friday. I suppose I will be the one to find out if it will work or not ($500 non-refundable) but is still almost $500 cheaper than the F250 liner ($988)

The Roof on the outside and inside (F150 vs SD) look identical so I am hoping it will be the same. I read on sites that the interior's from A pillar to C pillar are exactly the same on the 15-present F150 and 17-present SD and the dimensions were exactly the same as well. The Ford Parts guy I talked to at the dealer said that they are totally different even though they look the same (I'm calling BS on this as I have seen lots of F150 guys modifying their trucks with SD parts from 2017 and the wiring is even the same for the most part inside the truck) I hope I can get the liner out by taking the front seats out without having to take the back glass out!

Keep us posted ,I would like to know also. My 16 f150 had a black headliner and pillars to match which I prefer. I probably wont swap the headliner yet but I plan to order a-pillars and b-pillars in black.

I will keep everyone posted. I do not see why this would not work but who knows. Just extremely irritated that Ford did two different headliners and moving the Upfitters up top knowing that people with a SD will most likely need/want the upfitters in an XL or XLT.

It's official the 15-Present F150 headliners fit in the 17-Present Super Duties . Got the new Headliner in and it works perfect, there was a couple of pre-glued plastic pieces that had to be trimmed off on the back of the headliner to match what my original headliner came with but it was super simple. Anyone needing to swap their headliner to a standard console for upfitters the F150 one will fit and is $500 vs $1000.

Great for you it worked out so well. I'm confused that Ford has two part numbers and two prices for the same part. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

When are you going to do a how-to on your upfitter install?

wrvond, thanks I am glad it worked out if not I would have been in some serious trouble with the Wife lol Those headliners are not returnable and custom ordered from the dealer. What part are you referring too? Here is a breakdown of parts that I ordered the only difference will be what Version of the overhead console you need for your specific truck (ie. Rear window switch, sunroof, alarm sensors, color)

HC3Z-14A303-F Wire Assembly (Main Upfitter Harness all under the hood) $125.00
(NOTE - This part is on national backorder with no ETA so I ordered from dieselfilteronline shipped same day)

HC3Z-28519A58-JU Console Assembly - Overhead $131.40
(NOTE - This is the part that is specific to your vehicle There is a lot of variations)

HC3Z-15A404-A Wire Assembly (Harness from A pillar to upfitter switch) $13.10

I used autotrader.com and searched until I found a truck with the upfitters and the options I had in my truck and used that VIN for reference to order. I cannot take credit for getting this accomplished there has been several other pioneer's before me. I figured out how to do it all from reading these two posts. There is a TON of information!!

I don’t have the truck anymore but you can fold the front seats down as far as you can and carefully pull it through the back doors. I had to bent/crease mine a little but it bounced back and you couldn’t even tell once it was in. I didn’t remove anything to get mine in.

I am currently experiencing the dreaded Leaking windshield so I thought this would be the perfect time to upgrade to the upfitter switches as the headliner is stained from water. Possibly get insurance or dealer to cover cost of new headliner? Will see. Did you do the Switches first and then add the headline after? want to make sure I am not down too long as I use this truck daily. Looking to gather all the parts and then put it all together when the windshield is fixed.

Thanks in advance,
Tim
