Cool 2018 Escape

Took my truck in for a sunroof repair and they gave me an Escape with just over 500 miles. Must say, not impressed. My 2004 seemed to have more get up and go than this one. And the radio placement/buttons are horrible. If it and the hvac controls were swapped I think it would be more ergonomic. The seats weren't bad and I think cabin noise would be ok but it was windy as all get out here today. Overall my first impression would be about a 6.5 out of 10. We'll see how the rest of the week goes.

Edit - just looked up the 1.5l Ecoboost, it only has 179hp and the 2.5l is only 168. Guess that's why it doesn't feel like it has any power.

My Mom has 2015 and there is not enough time in my life to figure out the controls. I'm from old school, wiper headlights on the left and dimmer on the floor. I looked and cannot even see a engine under that Nun's hat when I lifted the hood.

The Escape I had was equipped with the 1.5 Ecoboost, not impressed with the power but mpg wasn't bad. Stereo controls were horrible and in my opinion very unsafe. There ar no physical buttons for preset stations so you were forced to take you eyes off the road to choose a station. I don't think my overall impression came up from the original 6.5. The only thing I can think of that I liked on it was the hvac control just under the radio controls that was specifically placed to blow air on the shift **** area where a lot of people place their hand.

I think if I was given one I would immediately sell it.

I figured the controls out but only because they're not too different from my truck.

My mom has one with the 2.0 Eco-boost. It is MUCH quicker than my 2003 3.0 escape.

I have the 2.0 Turbo and it is fun to drive. The only thing that bother me is when you accelerate from stop it seem to have a mind of it's own when it has to give power to the engine.
Almost got an accident because at one point it did not give me the output I thought it would for 1-2 seconds which my 2002 3.0 V6 never had this problem.
