Hi! New to the forum Thank you in advance. I had been about 40 miles on my commute to work.
Driving about 65-70 mph.Truck running smooth as always. Push pedal to gain speed there is NOTHING motor quiet. Drifted to a stop It had just shut off
Truck would not crank up. Motor turns over. I did notice an electrical burning smell. I don't remember what any gauges showed however I do not think my glow plug/ wait to start engine light was on? Any ideas?

 

fuel heater in the bowl might have shorted and blown the PCM fuse

 

Thank you. Have you ever had that happen?
My husband borrowed truck a week ago it did the same thing to him but about 20 minutes later the truck started and has been fine he thought it was a low fuel issue and switched tanks and after 20 minutes the truck started. HOWEVER today both tanks are full to the brim.
Any other words of wisdom?

Check your pcm fuse as knottyrope suggests. If the check engine light and wait to start light do not illuminate when the key is first turned on, that means the PCM is not getting power. Also worth checking the relays in the power distribution box under the hood. I recently had this very thing happen to me, and it was the pcm relay. I swapped it with the trailer lights relay, and it fired right up.
