I just installed some led headlights. I had the grill out and noticed something. My black bars are snap in. My truck has the chrome grill surround from the factory, with black plastic bars. The standard XL is one solid piece, so a chrome grill means a complete grill swap. With these, it's like a regular chrome grill, where the bars can be swapped out. I'm going to have to pull it back out to do some headlight adjusting, I'll snap a picture of the back of the grill. Just an FYI for you xl chrome package guys. the side piece in the middle are just overlays. But I think they snap out as well.

I can see your pics Ron so all good on my end. I have a f250XL and I will be doing the grill surround gril conversion as well.I hate having a black grill and chrome bumper, grill looks so out of place...lol

 

Just want to be clear, my truck came factory with the chrome surround. I've read where the Black xl grill is one piece and the black cross bars can't be removed.

I've thought about doing this before, but I'm actually pretty happy with the solid black grill on my truck. The chrome looks better on some trucks, especially the 4door trucks.
