Is it getting fuel to carb ? pull the line off at carb and crank with coil wire off and see if fuel is getting to carb or pour very small amount of fuel in to top of carb and see if it fires when cranking. If not could be fuel pump to sending unit not getting past sock in tank

Make sure you've got fuel pressure coming out of the fuel line and into the filter. Maybe the fuel supply back-drained down the line to the tank when it was open.

And welcome to FTE!

When I pour a little gas down carb and still won't start does that mean it's not fuel related and a carb problem?

pull a plug out and crank it over and see if its firing while cranking,, on these older autos firing an fuel is only big things to check,,but check an make sure its getting fuel to carb,,other than that its a firing issue

If she was runnin' before you changed the filter then it was something you did...or didn't do during/after the change.

Fer instance: are the clamps secure around the filter and not letting the fuel pump suck air?

Is the flow of fuel on the filter pointing in the right direction? Some are propitiatory in that respect.

Any other changes you did - inadvertently or not - that you can remember?

It was running before and all I did was take the filter off, which is by the carb, and out new one back on

Did you move any of the wires to the distributor? Those like to lose their insulation over the years, and if one of them short, they will keep the engine from starting.
Check all of the wires between the dizzy and the DuraSpark box.

77 ford f100 Fuel delivery issue??

77 ford f100
Ok so I have changed plugs, wires, fuel pump, fuel filter on carb. It starts, runs great but after warm up stalls and loses power. I am going to clean tank, lines and try to get carb adjusted. Anyone have any ideas on anything else it might be?? Thanks

If you have an electrical choke you might want to check out its adjustment......

Fuel filter ?

Also be sure to take a look at the rubber hose between the fuel pump and frame AND the rubber hose between the fuel tank sender and the frame - wiggle the hoses and check for cracks - it doesn't take much of a leak to cause the fuel pump to suck air.
