ARE doesn't advertise their MSRP. Dealers are allowed to mark the toppers up as little or as much as they choose. Some make their money on higher prices, some on moving volume.

I found a $600 swing between both my two closest dealers in MI versus a dealer that was 550 miles from my house in Pennsylvania.

Out the door installed prices:
  • MI authorized dealer (lowest of the two): $2,958.70
  • PA authorized dealer: $2,369.10
I presented the PA quote to both of the MI dealers. One wasn't even willing to budge a nickel. The other agreed to sell it to me for the exact same price as the out of state dealership PLUS cost of the fuel it would have cost me to go get it. I was able to get my ARE Z Series with the Yakima roof rack (rails only), the 12V light and the front flip down slider window (plus the standard stuff like fabric liner, etc.) for $2,600.00 out the door.

I had previously purchased the BedRug XL (still in the box) online. They went ahead and installed it for me at no extra cost. Very solid company. If anyone is from/near the SE Michigan area, drop me a PM and I'd be glad to share their name.

I also purchased (myself, online) the Super Cap Seal and the Front Rail Seal (both EPDM rubber) from ExtrudedSolutions.com and the install shop gladly used these instead of the normal foam/rubber seal they normally use. They really LIKE this stuff and have used it before. It provides a much better seal AND doesn't have to be replaced if/when you R&R the topper.

If you're interested in the Super Cap Seal and Front Rail Seal for your SB F250/350, these were the two items I bought:
  • Super Cap Seal 23 FT (1 1/2" Width x 1/2" Height x 23' Length) EPDM Rubber (~$30)
  • Front Rail Seal 6FT (Fills the front rail gap, when mounting a truck cap that has a height gap from .251" to .487" which I measured (~$14))

I probably could have gotten away with the Super Cap Seal 20 FT (shorter) (~$28), but wasn't sure. Had more than 3 feet left over when they gave what was left back to me.

My exact setup as well, except in White Platinum.

I have the Leer. Was on the truck when I bought it so unsure of cost. The lines match the truck well and quality seems good.

I have a Leer 100 XL... the cap is nice but I dont like the forward tilting seem the side window leaves. I wish I had gone the next model up and the seem wouldnt be there.

I got a carpeted liner as well as the bed rug. Interior light is switched and turns on when you open the back. Front window is removable and a slider but the fir is loose so I recommend some weather stripping to firm it up. I opted for always hot 3 socket 12 volt adapter at the rear and the programmable keyless entry. The bed rug and interior gray carpeting is very nice. It came secured with 2 C clamps on each side. I decided to also add 3 Aluminum bolts to each side to make sure it never moves.

This is on my 15' F250. Jason's have been my favorite for the last few years.

Have been getting some local quotes and a bit surprised at the swing between them as well. In addition, the Leer 100XQ is coming in 1,100 below the ARE Z series, which I thought were the 2 comparable models between the brands.

Leer XL the XQ is not available for long bed and I prefer the hinges on the XL anyway. It has the power lock and bed rug along with the roof rails. Also has Yakima racks used for surf rods which have been on last three trucks since 2003.Also Yakima crossbars.

The Leer 100XQ is Leer's top of the line cap, but IMHO, it's not anywhere near as good as the ARE Z Series. I was able to view and inspect both of these caps side-by-side.
