Ordered 2WD Valence

Tried to use search function and couldn’t get any good installation info. Any tips from those that have done this? What about the Prius catchers? Do they remain or do you remove and pitch them? Advice appreciated!

I searched this forum for "2wd AND valence" in titles only and found this ... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ence-part.html
Installation is about as simple as they come. Unbolt old & bolt on new (19 small bolts IIRC).
Prius-catchers? That's your decision. I left mine on and they're not that noticeable.

There’s a lot of bolts. I trimmed mine while on the truck no problem. Taped a line used a cut off wheel. Looks prefect

Easy to install. Takes 10 minutes to remove and 10 minutes to install the new one. Make sure you use impact driver to make the installation easier.

I cut mine myself. Remove the Prius catchers (total of 8 bolts) and ran this Dremel circular saw along the bottom of the bumper. It was done in minutes. Ignore the tape. My original plan was to draw a line where I wanted to cut but using the bumper as a guide was way easier.

Do the Prius catchers extend below the bottom of the new (2WD) valence?

Yes, but I left them with the idea that if I ever do run over a "Smart" car, I don't want the additonal liability from having removed a potentially life-saving feature.

Is there true liability with those things? Are they mandated by law or “best practice”?

I removed my Prius catchers. They were pretty obvious with the 2wd valance. As I recall there is one bolt on each end of the balance that is hard to get to. I think the whole deal took about an hour. I removed the small bolts with an air ratchet but tightened them by hand for fear of stripping the inserts. IMO this made a big difference in how the front end looks.

Super easy install takes just a few minutes. The Prius are an eye sore, they are longer than the 2wd valence.

Makes a big difference I think
