Another thing I was wondering is the difference in payload and ride quality between the "lightest" f250 and the "heaviest F150?
Like F150 Supercrew heavy payload max tow 6.5' bed
VS f250 crew 6.75' bed without any camper/plow packages?

I realize there's a big difference between the 6.2L V8 and the Ecoboost. I'm very familiar with the pros and cons of that choice.

I've had 1/2 tons my whole life (since 1983) and I wanted a 3/4 ton, period. Like you, I only pull a trailer a few times a year but that's not why I wanted the F250. The negatives are the height of the 2017 makes it nearly impossible to reach over the side walls unless your 6'5" or above and gas mileage isn't anything to brag about. Other than those reasons, I have zero regrets in going with the 250.

What's stock height in 2017 model year?

Just did some counting and my next truck will be my seventh. Never lifted any if them, but they do seem to be getting taller over time.
They are 7ft tall.... thankfully I have a platinum with the power deploy running boards. They drop a little lower than the fixated ones. My wife is 5ft tall so she'd have issues getting in. This one is a bit problematic for her as well.

I thought that Ford's spec's said that they are 6'10". Maybe I'm wrong...

Mine has 20" wheels and is 81.5" (as stated above). Maybe someone with the 18's will chime in.

I too drove half tons until I wanted a more stable towing platform. My guess is a comparable 150 (CCLB King Ranch) is at least 1,000lbs, if not more, lower in payload than the 250 (CCSB King Ranch). I'm talking 6.2 only. I guess a quick search of the 150 forum may shed additional light.

Ok, I checked the Ford site and it is 81.5" which is roughly 6' 8". If you have clearance lights on top that should add another inch maybe?

I don't park indoors normally but on the occasional chance I might need the truck into the garage at home, I checked. My garage door is 82.5" at the weatherstripping. The rest of the garage is a couple inches higher. Should fit.

My wife and I ride to work together a lot and on those days we take her Taurus. Other than those days, mines a daily driver.

I admit it took me about month to get used to my f250 crew LB after driving a f150 crew SB for the lat 4.5 years. There is give and take (stiffer ride, worse economy, lot harder to park, etc) but I don't think I'll ever go back. It meets my needs as a tow vehicle better.

I for sure wouldn't get the eight foot box ever again. I owned one for a summer and it really wasn't suitable for my needs.

Daily driver for both.

Most of my driving is a 26 mile round trip to work, and short hops around town. Also towing a 8000 lb travel trailer approx 1500 miles per year with about the same on the freeway.

The F-150 was at 15.5 MPG or so, The F-350 is at 12.5 MPG average for the first 11500 miles with the towing, and freeway included.

The ride is stiffer for sure, and the turning radius is larger. I need to park farther out a the grocery store, home depot, etc.

The F-350 is a true truck, it drives and handles like one.
The F-150 is more like a station wagon with an open box.

There is no comparison in the towing, the F-350 is a extremely capable and stable towing platform, where the F-150 was not so good in the stability department.

I will never go back, I love the F-350, for me it was the perfect choice.
Zero problems so far, and very pleased with this truck.

I very much prefer the ride and performance of a true heavy duty truck.
I just ordered an F350 - It will be my daily driver too. I’m moving up from a half ton tundra. Can’t wait to feel the difference.

Glad to hear you like it. The 1-ton your day driver? I am moving from a 1/2 ton tundra to a F350.
