This is a 2006 F350 cab chassis. Why does the front axle look like an axle from a SRW truck? Any ideas?

It looks to me like someone put F250 rims on an F350.

I was thinking that too, but normally the 4x4 hub is recessed into a dually wheel. I am thinking that this is an axle swap from a SRW truck, or there are some spacers/adapters missing. Hoping someone here knows.

Thanks,

You think it is as simple as that Brandon? Are F350 front axles the same for dually/SRW except for the OEM adapters?

I found some pictures.

Is the hub adapter on the front the only difference between a SRW and DRW?

not 100% but think so I should have said. It could very well be a srw front axle swapped in or a srw chassis cab truck with a rear drw axle swapped.

I know on mine (leaf spring) many parts swap between the 4x4 srw front, 4x4 drw front, and the monobeam front axles. Ignoring early 99. I could take my dually adapters off and run a srw wheel as long as it cleared the brakes. I'm keeping my eyes open for a 4x4 front axle for a possible future swap.

DRW might have larger brake rotors and calipers. My 450 ones are bigger than my old 250 but not sure on the 350 drw

F250 and F350 have the same rotors and calipers, F450 are massively different.
