2002 F250 crew cab 7.3. After 287 thousand miles all of my door locks were getting slow and/or not working. Thanks to the well written posts on here about eliminating the resistor in the lock actuator that problem is now fixed. HOWEVER while I had the motors out I took the motor off of the door latches and gave the latches an extremely needed and very thorough cleaning in the parts washer and then relubricated with dry lubricant. The problem is that apparently I screwed up the switch on the bottom of latch that tells the instrument cluster that the door is closed! Now the light in panel remains on no matter what and the super annoying fact that the dome light stays on until a certain speed is attained is also happening. Does anyone know how to find the offending door and also does anyone know if this switch is normally open or closed. Depending which it is I may just go and tie the wires together or unplug them to stop the light. I cannot see any reason why these reminders NEED to be working (aside from the radio not shutting itself off) unless someone else can show me the error of my ways. I already have the wiring manual to the truck but not in the mood to peruse 448 pages if someone knows right of the top of their head. Thanks !
