There was a guy that used to post here that sold his 6.0, he still lurks here from time to time.
I'll see if I can find his handle, I'm pretty sure he was from that area.

Thank you.

Found a couple shops with decent reviews but needing to get some injectors done and a few other things. Want to make sure it is a GOOD shop

My bad, I looked him up and he's from Yakima so won't be of much help.

I guess the best thing to do is talk to the service lead or shop foreman, ask around if they have specific knowledge of the 6.0 Powerstroke.
If you get the deer in the headlights look, then run the other direction.

I will tell you that Motorcraft remans are the only way to go as far as the injectors are concerned..........anyone else here that works on these trucks will tell you the same thing.
Don't let them talk you into another brand that might be $20 cheaper....you will likely end up pulling them and doing them again in short order.

Yeah I motorcraft all the way with filters, injectors etc.. I have talked to 3 different shops and they have all said they use ford injectors, and seem to know a good amount about the 6.0. One shop said they can also get another brand of injector and they are a few bucks less but generally uses the Ford ones.

One of the shops say they are powerstroke specialist and the owner was the head diesel guy at a dealership for about 15 years. They sounded pretty knowledgeable.

I do a lot of work myself and have a hard time taking my rig to shops with out knowing them.

I like the Ford (former) mechanic sound of things. I had found one not too far from me, but when I went to him to discuss what I wanted done, he poo-poo'd a number of things: EC-1 coolant, bullet proof EGR and things like fumoto valves on the block drains. He also was doubling up prices on overlapping work (like charging to remove turbo twice). This guy was recommended by a friend, who now has gotten the guy to "see the light" on some of these improvements (like the tech had never seen the 6.4 trans filter and pan put on a 6.0) - he was too much by-the-book (and the book was dated).

What I did: Went down to my Chapter here on FTE and asked the same question. Ended up going to the shop recommended by a fellow FTE'er and 6.0 owner (Hi Scott - 04badFord), And it was 120 miles from me! They ONLY worked on Diesels and had two Ford Only Techs.

I interviewed the service writer then asked to speak to the tech that would work on my truck. Not only was he up on Everything I wanted to do, he threw in some extras. Their per hour price was quite a bit more than the first guy, but guess what? they understood job overlap! I saved $400 over guy number one and was extremely pleased with the job and thoroughness...

So, if you don't get a recommendation here, try your chapter - they know people...

Good luck,
Scott

When you find someone that your happy with come on over to the Washington Chapter
forum section and post a link to them. I find that we do have people over there that
read but not post much. You might even try asking the question there.

Here is the link to the Washington State Chapter.

UPDATE On Spokane Area Shops

UPDATE..

Called and talked to a handful of shops and narrowed it down to 2.

ICDI Diesel Repair
Owner was lead diesel at Gus Johnson for over 15 years. They use only motorcraft parts and seemed like they knew there stuff. They also specialize in powerstroke.

Hurricane Diesel
Owner is very knowledgeable and seems to know 6.0 and powerstrokes very well. They do standard repair, and also performance stuff.

I ended up going with Hurricane and they had a full work up on my truck the next day an went through everything, even to let me know my drag links had a little play in them. I had them do the 1 injector that had failed (they did not see a reason to do all of them) and new thermostat. I got a call before noon the next day my truck was ready to go.

When I dropped my truck off there were 2 powerstrokes in the parking lot and 3 in shop, so safe to say they work on Fords

On a side note Hurricane is also LE, Fire, Military friendly, which coming from military family and being LE my self was extremely nice to hear.
