Bilstein Shock Absorbers

I purchased a pair of Bilstein shocks last year that don't fit my truck. They are Bilstein 55-R145 shocks made for Race Car Dynamics. They are eye to eye shocks that obviously won't fit my 56 F100. Does anyone know what these actually fit? They measure 18 1/2 inches eye to eye and supposedly fit 48-55 F100's. Anyway- I put them up on Ebay this am to sell.

Probably they will fit until 1955 front/rear. In 1956 they changed the upper shock mounts.

If you're going to sell them I'm interested. Shoot me a message or an email.

Greetings Daniel

Daniel: you're correct according to this site these Bilsteins will fit up to '55 F100s. Classic Ford Truck Parts-1948-1964 Parts. The Finest in Suspension, Brakes, Steering and Accessories.. I'm buying four to go with the Posies super slide springs.

Broke: if Daniel decides to not get our shocks please send me an email or message.

Race Car Dynamics was formerly located in the old Buck knives factory just down the road from me...about 200 yards from Taylor Guitar for those interested. Jim Asbury owned RCD and built many custom Bilstein shocks for his projects and those of others. I had Jim build 3 sets for me for trucks with Volarie IFS setups. I am not sure if we are talking about the same shocks but of the three that I bought I sold one to okiedokie, one to a fellow club member, and kept the third for my truck. The club member does not work on his truck himself so he took the shocks to a local mechanic to have them installed...the mechanic said that they didn't fit so I bought the shocks back from the guy. As soon as he told me they didn't fit I checked the shocks and sure enough the installed cut the retainer wires off the shock before he attempted to fit the shock into the IFS. Tying the piston back under pressure is a real PITA but you can't compress the shock enough to get it installed without doing it first. I used a Rockwell Jawhorse to compress the shock and then reattach the wires. I can personally vouch for the F100 owner who properly installed these shocks and who has been using them for close to five years now.

Yesterday I cross-referenced Monroe shocks see if there is a Bilstein match since they do not list our trucks in their catalog. The only direct match found is for the 80s Toyota Land Cruiser, Bilstein part # 24-002486 (front axle). This shock is in their B6 4600 line, specifically made for trucks and 4WD vehicles. This may be just another part number for the 55-R145, no idea.

Bilsteins for F100

Since there seems to be interest from my fellow FTE Forders- I pulled these off Ebay tonite. If they don't get a new owner in a couple days- I'm putting them back up.

Isn’t there something missing?

I guess I thought there was suppose to be an attachment but after rereading I see dadgonebroke just pulled the shocks he was selling on eBay off due to interest on this site.
