When you get me the $33k you owe me
Or maybe that sweet, sweet Ford Retirement Plan pricing
And truthfully the '09 Corolla is next for replacement and Terra would like her first New car as a replacement. She'll be looking for something that gets close to the 36mpg we are consistently getting with the Corolla.
If I remember correctly my 07 FX4 was around the $26k (might have been 28K) mark
I remember I bought my 01 ZX3 new for about $13K. When looking around 2004 or 2005 its replacement was up to about $16k. Now a nicely option focus is close to or just over $20. But I do hear Base STs with a $25K sticker can be had for about $20k.

Good morning New Yorkers everywhere...Happy Weekend Eve!!!
Dan...your check is in the mail!!! I'm glad that Corolla worked out well for Terra...it's hard to beat 'em. I think the only car that can compare is the Civic...but...equipped alike...the Civic is quite a bit more expensive. I'd like to say the Focus is a contender...but...it's not even close.

The Corolla has been a good car.
Just regular maintenance. I did just swap out all the struts but even with broken strut covers the originals were still working fine.
The only thing I think the Focus has over the Corolla is the fun to drive factor. But maybe i'm biased with only having 5 speeds and about 30 more HP. We won't bring the ST into this comparison.
Did I tell you I picked up an Edge?
My mind is starting to go. Some days I can't remember what I had for breakfast.

My Focus has been just fine for basic transportation...I'm not much into "Fun to drive" any longer. Toyota's have been called "boring" many times...but...their reliability is probably second to none. If boring means it starts every time you get in it and gets you to where you want to go...give me boring every time. You alluded to the fact that you had gotten something different...but...you didn't mention what it was. The Edge is one of my favorite crossover vehicles...if I had the need for a bigger vehicle with AWD it would definitely be near the top of the list. Does this mean that the Ranger is history???
By the way...I had scrambled eggs and ham for breakfast...all in a days work for the chicken...a lifetime commitment for the pig. My mind is still going pretty good.

But I hear you about not having to think and it just starting every time.
The Edge is fun point to point with it's twin scroll 2.0L. It handles pretty good which helps. Kind of makes we want to see how the Sport does and how the upcoming 2019 Edge ST does.
The Edge is also comfy and rides smooth. I also had to get the tow pack so it could replace the Ranger.

Plus with incentives I got about $1000 less on trade in than I was expecting to see on private sale. Ford also was generous and gave me 0% interest. I looked at a closely priced F150 but with no 0% interest it was almost $100 more per month.

Good morning NH...Happy Hump Saturday!!!
That's why I got rid of my last Taurus...needed about $3600 in repairs to make it a $500 car. I did wind up selling it...got $1000 for it from some guy who fancied himself a good mechanic. I haven't seen the car on the road almost 3 years later. I wonder if he gave up??? Sometimes the 0% APR works well...sometimes it doesn't...I'm sure you made all the comparisons before signing.
It's all about how much fun you have between A and B.
But I hear you about not having to think and it just starting every time.

At my age...excitement IS getting from point to point. I never drove an Edge with an Ecoboost...but...I did drive an Edge Sport. It was impressive back then...I can imagine what they're going to do with it. Edge ST sounds like too much fun.
The Ranger had a hard time passing inspection (technically it did not pass inspection before I traded it in). I was also told it was going to need a few things before the next inspection and I'm guessing it would be close to $2000 to have it all fixed. There was also a Shake mechanics as well as Ford could not find and an EVap code that Ford (many trips and over $500 into just trying to find/fix it) could not pinpoint and the CEL kept coming on every few hundred miles.
