New to me 04 6.0 Ex

Bought a new to me 2004 6.0 Excursion. It has been studded and has 197k on it. It has an edge cts which has been nice except no oil temp on my PID's, anyone running a cts on their excursion that is getting EOT? The previous owner has 2 user inputs but I don't know what they are for exactly. There are sensors coming out of the oil filter and fuel filter caps and I assume that is what they are. One sensor runs around 65ish and the other varies from 30 or so at idle to 60-70. I would think that one is oil pressure and the one showing around 65 is fuel pressure, but that is a big assumption on my part. Are those numbers close to where they should be? When it was studded he also had a new fuel injector and oil cooler installed.

My ECT isn't getting above about 170 so I assume I should replace the coolant thermostat? I also have sagging springs especially on the front, they are pretty much flat. I already have contact Junior at ATS to see what he would recommend.

Sorry for all the rookie questions, this is my first diesel and I want to take care of this properly and hopefully prevent some of the common 6.0 issues.

Nice rig! Welcome!

I'd head over to the 6.0L forum and dig through the tech section. I have an Edge in mine (no tuner, just the monitor) and I have the EOT PID on mine. Don't know about the sensors on the oil and fuel filter caps. Seems sort of odd to me though...ECT should get to at least the mid 180's, even on a cold day, unless you have a pretty short drive time. I'd replace the thermostat and depending on how cold your weather is, maybe go with the 200 degree version. Also make sure you have a good degas cap and use proper coolant. I'd recommend a coolant filter as well.

65ish is normal range for fuel pressure on both the 7.3 and 6.0 after modifications.

30 at idle and then ranging up to 60-70 while driving would be your oil pressure.

I called Edge and they said EOT wasn't on the list of PID's for an 04 Ex. But I have also talked to many other people like you that said they are monitoring EOT just fine. Hmmm I don't get it.

Other OBD2 devices allow user's to enter PIDs directly.
The Scangauge2 is probably the most "flexible" albeit also the most low tech display. But, with the help of some gurus, we can even "calculate boost" by using the MAP sensor and subtracting from it (an entered value for normal atmospheric pressure)..
