Good thought on the TrueTrac, most likely cheaper than Ford parts.
Have had no dealings with those, how are they on slow tight turns?
Thanks Steve

They are unnoticeable they basicly act like an open differential but they use helical gears to transfer torque to the wheel with greater traction. They are even smoother than the factory limited slip because they don't use clutches and they work much better than the Ford unit.

What 00t444e said. The TrueTrac only has 2 disadvantages relative to an open diff: it costs more and it gives up a LITTLE stability on icy roads. But it'll generally give better traction AND better stability than a factory limited slip, so its only downside there is cost.

Although I can't say for certain that it's stronger than a stock open diff. I've heard that it is, but I can't verify that.

Thanks gents, don't see much icy roads around here. More about traction on boat ramps and getting a large 5th wheeler moving on unsealed surfaces.
Would imagine that the multiple gears are stronger than the standard 2 spider gear setup.
Cheers Steve
