6.2l exhaust?
#17
Just checked again today, thought I may be crazy. I guess the 17's are different. My 11 6.2 was a SCLB and it had 2 resonators and a muffler. My 15 was a 6.7 Powerstro.....never mind. My 17 is a 6.2 CCLB and it has 2 small cats, 1 resonator, 1 muffler. The resonator terminates under the cab so I don't think I want to do a turn down under the cab. I'll probably run a straight pipe from the resonator, delete the muffler and dump it out the side in front of the wheel. less bends = cheaper.

Hello, I have a 2012 f350 lariat, it's the Crew cab short bed with the 6.2l. everyone likes a good rumble! I wasn't sure what to get, at the moment I have a stainless 4" mbrp cat back system.. it sounds ok but not great. Can anyone tell me what the best system is out there . The mbrp says cat back how ever there is one resonator still on the truck. I really like the sound of a roush system on the 6.2 raptor. Is there a system that I can come close to that sound? Even Tho the raptor has a little more pep.. they very similar engines. The mbrp is not worth the 500 bucks at all when compared to stock sound.

You going to get a hard time from the dealership (should you have it in for anything that has them looking under the truck) for deleting mufflers or resonators? I would like a little better sound (but nothing obnoxious that'll draw too much attention or make my neighbors hate me) but don't want to waste the warranty on a brand new truck. 2018 6.2L

I put a flowmaster cat back system on my 2016 6.2 ccsb and wasn’t happy with the sound. I then removed the small coffee can resonator and it sounds a little better. I’m now thinking about removing the first resonator but I am nervous that it might be too loud. Currently I don’t have any drone and I tow a heavy fifthwheel. I was looking at a y pipe made by dynomax because I didn’t want my factory resonator hacked up Incase I went back to stock. Has anyone used the dynomax 54739 which is part of there cat back system?

I did a muffler delete on my 2018 CCSB about one month ago, and it was too loud when pulling a trailer at big throttle openings. My muffler delete consisted of a short section of pipe and a 3" Vibrant stainless steel 12 inch long resonator. The stock 3.5" tail piece was left in place. It was noticeable around town unloaded and OK on the highway. But when pulling a trailer it was too loud. 6th gear at 1,900 RPM was annoying, 5th gear was better. Yesterday I changed out the straight pipe and Vibrant muffler section and replaced it with a 3" Dynomax Ultra-Flo round muffler. Still a straight through design so not much restriction. It's about 30% quieter that the straight pipe and a little louder than the stock muffler. It is a good compromise. Yes, I could have (and should have) used a oval offset in / offset out muffler, which would have been quieter. Might have been too quiet. A 22" long (case length) Magnaflow/Max Flow/Ultra Flo would have been too quiet.
I'll follow up when I pull the trailer with it.

I'm cat deleted and the small muffler/resonator deleted. The rest is stock. And it sounds great IMO. A little rank on cold starts and then settles right down to almost silent at an idle. Warm starts let out a satisfying rumble at kick off and then real quiet unless your foot is far in it. I pull a three horse trailer with it and never a complaint from the passengers. It's also tuned so no codes.
