Factory turbo install

I sourced a factory turbo kit off a 94 to put on my 87 6.9, complete except a few missing bolts

I gave up searching just figured i might ask. Is there a place to buy the gaskets and orings to replace the 24 year old originals? I would pay alittle more just for a kit just to save the time.

Check with 'typefour', a user here. He ended up buying a bunch of old ATS stock when they stopped carrying parts for them.
If you can't get ahold of him here, he goes by 'typ4' over on Oilburners and I know he's active there.

No need to pull the front clip. I took the IP and hard lines off since I was replacing the IP at the time and that helped a bunch. You will need to relocate the glow plug relay which isn’t difficult either. Oh and you’ll have to bend the firewall in order to get the downpipe to fit...not sure if you have to do that for the stock “crushed” down pipe but I used the 3” banks down pipe and I had to bend it which wasn’t very difficult.

I may wait and save for a new injector pump since this ones age is unknown, and the injectors were original before i replaced them.

Any suggestions for an injector pump for a factory turbo? I need all i can get for spinning these 38's

Report back on what you can get as a kit. I just brought home a 94 Turbo 7.3idi in trade for a toolbox. Just wanted the turbo setup, but the engine came with it. Planning on sticking it on my 86 6.9idi if I don't just swap the whole engine in.

Ive had pyro,, couldnt stand not knowing, EGT especially with the heavy 38's on hummer locks. Guess ill have to throw a boost gauge on it now.

I thought factory turbo with factory pump maxxed was just approaching the limits of the turbo?

I will,, going back and froth with typ4 right now, he had some questions as far as nuts and grommets. Answered him last night, well see what shows up. He does seem to have "kits" right now. Just not sure every little item that is and is not included. The bolt kit is purchased seperately.

Here's another source for rebuilt IPs:

fuel injection injection pump injection pump rebuilding injection pump repair, Conestoga Diesel Injection Fuel Injection and Turbocharger Rebuilding. The Moose Pump people! Willow Street, PA Home

I've read the IPs available at the auto parts stores have questionable quality. Plus, an IP from Conestoga diesel or R&D isn't much more than a rebuilt one available at an auto parts store.
