Do these units noticeably bump up performance on a stock truck? They look nice, are the particularly rare or expensive?

Looks like it will handle a 4bl carb so that should give it a boost in performance..

Yes, as long as you don't go too big on the carb?

I've got a Holley 600 cfm that I'm planning to use but I fear it may be a little on the large side. I do have a good street cam grind and some headers on it. Not gonna be a tire smoker but should make OK power. I've read these motors have air flow issues anyway.

A 600 is allot on the large side . Too big = slow air velocity = poor air fuel mixing . Edelbrock and many others have a carb sizing program . My 408 stroker , aluminum heads , 512 lift only calls for a 600cfm because of the realativly low 5500 rpm redline .

The Holley 390 cfm Classic would be idea. Several of us are using them on V8s which isn't that much larger than your engine. Holley has a carb selector on their website.
