Question

Transfer case 1356

I have a 95 f150 manual hubs & transmission Borg Warner 1356. Works fine in 4 low but chatters in 4 high on snowy road. Noise goes away when de-excellorating but returns when given gas. U-joints all replaced, no noise in 2 Wheel drive. Need to replace it? Locals want big bucks for transfer case. Will a 1988 1356 automatic transmission fit? Any ideas?

It seems to me 4H possition is not right lock, check for levers and brackets position.

1988 should be same, just brackets and levers are different.
