All these motors will still be as powerful over the long term providing the cylinder compression is up to spec for all cylinders, all other operating parameters are correct.
There is no reason the power should fall with age if these items are as they are designed to be.
Electronic engine control is way superior to the old carbed engines of yester year.
Matter of fact, the old engine needed a valve job at some point.
These engine hardly ever have valve sealing problems over there life time.
There are exceptions but this is generally the rule overall..

Thanks for the feedback, I haven't had any problems towing 18' tt all over the Rockies,
If it was/is losing power from age I can't tell.
At 212k miles it runs great.
Not sure why people say they run out of power,
Probably cause they don't know what they're talking about..
