1944 1.5ton Ford truck serial number
I have purchased a Ford 1944, 1.5 ton truck. I found the serial number on the frame *99T-604417*
I want to restore the truck to it time and make it a truck I drive to town from the farm on weekends. I need to do something to the rear end to get it up to 50 or 60 mph. Maybe adding overdrive?
i am looking for parts? Body parts? Thoughts?
Also I really don’t know where to go to find information on my truck from it’s serial number. Hard to find information on the war era truck.
Thanks

Robert, welcome to the site. There really isn't anything much different about a '44 compared to the other '42-'47 heavy duty trucks. The body and other components are the same. The only different parts are between 1/2 ton and 1 ton and larger. The fenders will be different. But other body parts are the same for all conventional cabs.
Good luck on your truck. Feel free to post some pictures when you can.
