I keep blowing the fuse that controls the tow/haul mode in my 2010 F350

Two thoughts.
1) I have been researching replacement of my F250 shifter since my tow-haul switch is snapped off. In my reading I have seen numerous comments referring to wire abrasion (resulting in an electrical short) of the Tow-Haul switch wiring where the shifter pivots at the steering column (near the key switch). Easy to visually inspect this by removing two plastic covers on the steer column.
2) An old proven technique to find a intermittent short. Get a old car horn. Stuff rag into horn. Attach 2 long wires to horn (+12VDC and ground), pull fuse #19 and insert wires in place of fuse using lug terminals. Move wiring around, horn will sound and vary in intensity when wiring goes to ground (short).
Happy hunting!
