Popping out the can be a lean fuel mix or timing.

of course it hasn't rained in like 9mo but picks today.

someone told me if the distributor is off a tooth or two it won't let it start without spray that's why popping out tbi when I try to gas it. or it's 180 out.

Im really wondering about timing now I read ur post subford.
I need to start like I took out dizzy and didn't mark it and get it in time. But I know the flat spot on distributor housing ls pointing at driver headlight like where the icm would be if it was on the distributor.

The rotor was pointing like 2 past no1 when I pulled it for pip swap. So I made sure it pointed in same direction when I seated it back in Kinda not sure how that won't work but I'm up for trying anything at this point man

Ok subford
i bumped motor over til puffed out #1 attaching photos showing the white mark and where rotor is pointing.
It appears the left edge of the rotor contact is right at the right side of the #1 contact inside distributor (so it would have just fired the no1 plug?)
the mark looks to be ccw past the timing mark??

So if I turn crank clockwise (looking at it) to bring that white mark to the top edge of the indicator thing

then I need to pull distributor out and move it so the rotor is in the same place it is now yes??

You may also want to twist the distributor while the engine is cranking to see if it will run.
If it starts and says running then pull out the SPOUT and put a timing light on the truck and turn the distributor to put it at 10deg BTDC at the pointer.

Doing that may put it a little off as the slack in the timing chain will be on the wrong side.
You must always turn the engine in running rotation and never back up.

what is the spout??
Headingnout now to see if it'll fire while moving distributor

ok so much for that. Either it won't start or battery is drained too much or both. I charge battery some and it'll start with spray fast but dies tried to flutter gas enough to move distributor around but it's too hard to do that.
It don't seem to have any change on firing up tho I cranked it a good bit while moving distributor now I have charger on battery
what's it mean since it don't matter you thinking timing is close enough since it starts with spray or no coz it pops out tbi if I try to throttle it any?
Right after it dies (using shot to start it) if I try to start it again it fires like it tried to start but don't take off. Only does this once or twice then back to cranking

Don't know what the spout is

dont matter coz it won't start and run on its own still.

Ok had wife crank it while moving distributor and it does not help any.

This is may sound stupid but could it be popping out the exhaust and not the tbi??? Does that mean anything different??
askijg coz I shot it to get started and worked throttle so it would pop but it wasn't visible at the tbi idk if it's coz the butterflys were shut too much for it to actually be seen st the tbi?
I don't know at this point I'm at the mercy of what ya think is wrong subford.

We need to know the fuel pressure while it is cranking to see if it is starving for fuel.
Also you may need to check with the NOID light again.

Wait for the fuel pressure test while cranking tomorrow.
Sounds like the PCM is firing the Injectors.

Are you attempting to start this truck without the tubes from the breather connected to the throttle body as shown in your pictures?
