Duplicating Factory Backup Camera's Video on Aftermarket Head Unit
The factory backup camera's video image on my 2016 F-250 (w/ SYNC but no Nav) is displayed in the rearview mirror but I'd like to duplicate the video on the new Kenwood eXelon DDX 395 head unit that I just purchased. I bought an iDatalink Maestro RR module and FO1 harness to do the install so I asked their tech support if there is a way to do this. They indicated that in order to do this I'd need to splice into the video wires at the rearview mirror. I have no interest in splicing into the factory wires up there but I'm wondering if there is a manufactured T-harness that I could plug in either between the factory plug and the mirror or at some other point, maybe under the dash? I'd need the T plug on the one end and a yellow RCA jack on the other end.
Are there any other options available to accomplish this?

I'm watching this thread closely..... I just purchased a Pioneer 5201 and wondering the same thing. I have seen a thread where the user spliced into the system on the passenger kick panel. If I can find that thread I going to ask the question of how he did it. Good luck and please post any updates you get. Thanks

I'm hoping someone has a solution. All I could find was this video on how to splice into the wires up at the rear view mirror.
