New Year....New Chat Thread - January 2018
It's cold outside. -28*F at my house this morning. And truck is having gelling issues I believe. Made it almost all the way into work and it died coming up a hill. Added some more power service and some 911, hopefully it will start and run tonight.

Crazy weather! Back to cold for most of the week throw in some snow and then back to close to 40. I have my neighbor plowing for me this winter with his F250. Takes about 5 to ten minutes compared to the hour and a half for me to snow blow. Might look into getting a cheap yard truck next summer.

Hello from the Western side of the US guys.Man what a nasty winter hey boys? The cold has been pushed way down as I cross the southern states too! Burr! No where near as bad as it's been back in Maine though.Holy crap have you guys been having it hard.Like record breaking since the early 70's temps.Nasty.Sounds like it's been better for ya lately though.
My list of National Parks continues to grow as I just passed my 39th park.Soon,I'll have just 4 left to see someday in the lower 48 (all of Alaska & Hawaii's remain too though.)
Been taking lots of pics.Getting the hang of my new hobby - Astrophotography as well.I'll see about adding a nice nightscape for ya.
Anyway, not much for wifi stops (and I'm not a smart phone owner,so no data plans.) Hope you are all doing good up home.Keep them fires burning.

Check out this owl.It took me a few attempts but he eventually let me get so close that I had to zoom out from using my telephoto lens and used flash!
Compressed to upload so it wont be so detailed here but the full version of a stitched together panorama down inside Carlsbad Caverns came out awesome.
See if I can show ya,a few of my night shots so far.
Those are just straight jpg from cam too.Once I develop the raw files in lightroom (software for developing night shots),they should look even better than just jpg from the cam.
Having fun and keeping warm (finally!) now in the sunshine.
