speedometer doesn't work, ABS light is on, haul/tow light flashing, odmeter is all dashes (------)
So this is how it all started. I was driving to work and the dash lights, radio started to flash and go out. the the motor died. Assumed the alternator went bad. Did alternator check(bad). Replaced alternator. Now have warning lights on. When I start the engine (engine runs fine and alternator charging battery) the ABS light comes on and speedometer is on 0. Put it in drive, start to drive but the speedometer doesn't move. At some speed( don't know because speedo doesn't work) the TOW/HAUL light comes on and flashes, the speedometer needle drops down passed the 0 and odometer goes to all dashes(-----). So know driving with engine running fine and trans shifting fine. The engine light, ABS light, TOW/HAUL light flashing and odometer reading dashes(---) and the speedometer not working.
So I go to advance auto to check computer codes and it gives me a p0500 code. Vehicle speed sensor "A" I replace it ( on the rear differential) but I still have all the lights on the dash and no speedo
The truck is a
2005 F250 FX4
5.4 lt.
Automatic
4 wheel drive
Does anyone have any ideas,fixes?

The 2011-2016's have a similar problem that seems to be traced to a loose wiring harness connection at the firewall just above the e-brake. Most guys just cut the zip-tie that holds the harness to the e-brake bracket & resecure the connection. That seems to solve the problem.
I have not heard of that same problem in an '05, but you never know....

Well here is the fix
RESET THE COMPUTER/ECU
Go to you local reputably mechanic shop or ford dealer(NOT auto part store) Have them read/communicate with all modules and clear all the codes. And WALLAH all warning lights off.
I thought pulling neg cable of battery and letting the computer/ecu relax/discharge would reset it, but NO.
Lesson learned: Always have the computer/ecu reset by your local reputably mechanic shop or ford dealer(NOT auto part store) After having to pull neg battery cable to do work/maintenance on your 2005 f250.(probably every other vehicle)
I have put to a shout out to the guys at

Thanks Dave
