Wow. Sounds like your uncle is a hermit. I like to pinch pennies too, but it makes no sense to eat TV dinners and feed the dogs home cooked meals. Only 16-17 hours a week is not very much for such a long drive. Only you can determine if it is worth it or not though. Good luck in whatever you choose.
