Evening guys.
I finally got a headlight for the wife's 4Runner only to get home and discover one of the $%@& mounting tabs was damaged in shipping. I checked it before taking it home, but apparently not close enough. Normally it would have gone right back, but I need this back on the road and it wasn't at a critical point so on it went.
It doesn't look half bad for a total hack job. Shhh! Don't tell Alan or Chip, but I had to resort to the judicious use of zip ties to hold it all together. The cold made all the plastic pop fasteners so brittle they were breaking rather than fastening so I had to improvise.

Evening All!
Well, the guy I was getting the planetary axles from got screwed, so no planets for me. ...but I DO have a set of 5 ton axles sitting here that will be going in to the truck for this year. It will also have 4 wheel steering, too.
I got the second set of 5 tons today. I beat the crap out of the back of the rental trailer unloading them, but 30 minutes with the welder and grinder had it back in shape. A rattle can of satin black later, and you can't even tell anything happened.

Dave. ....been there, done that. You have to do what you have to do to get the job done. Just for future reference, use a heat gun or hair drier to warm the clips up next time so they aren't so brittle. It looks good for no body work or paint. At least it's serviceable again. You can always go back later and make it pretty.

Thanks Alan. That's the same corner that Dad trashed not long after Mom & Dad bought it. The body shop they took it to for repairs did a crappy job and I've used some colorful idioms when I've had to deal with a few things there over the years. When the weather warms up, it's getting a new fender, bumper cover, and bumper cover supports. The radiator core support was bent from Dad's incident and was never straightened out to begin with. I'm a little concerned about getting that part straight, but even if it isn't perfect it will be better than it is now.

Does anyone know of a good, fair, honest Diesel shop in or near ST Louis? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-st-louis.html

Pass the word, ask around, who knows who in that area?
