1976 F100 2wd Short box pseudo Build begins!
Broke into the truck about a month ago and here's how its going so far....
Lowering with DJM
Lowering Shocks around
Changing bolt pattern to 5x4.5
New 5x4.5 Moser axles
3.70 gears in Ford 9"
Right Stuff (mustang) Ford 9" rear disc conversion (does fit)!
There's been issues of course, it seems compared to other 'older' vehicles there is not a lot custom out there for our trucks. But we are fighting through

Very cool!
What ya gonna do with the front end to change to 5x4.5?? Re-drill the rotors?
Instead of all-black grill inserts, consider doing this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...technique.html
... and ya don't need drop shocks in front. DJM beams change the relative position of the wheel enterline to the I-beam. The travel is still the same.

I guess I'll go ahead and say it... those are some unorthodox tail lights ya got there. I like the tailgate and roll pan, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around those tail lights. Are they one-offs or did they get donated from another vehicle? I can definitely appreciate people trying new and different things though, no hate here! I believe that's what car culture is about.

Beauty truck. I have the same but little rougher around the edges.
Word to the wise about those drop beams, i moved to another province and have to go through an inspection here and they will not pass. The welded beams are certified for off road only. I wish i wouldve kept my original beams just for inspections.
What are you doing for speed parts?
Removed a leaf after this pic, now level, looking to cut a half coil now
SItting level now

That's a good stance there DJfins! The previous owner has some sort of mild cam in it, an edelbrock intake, carburetor, and I'm getting some patriot LT headers mainly for fitment issues, but nothing more at the moment for speed, I've had fast cars before and have no plans on making this anything more than a cruiser.
Suspension, brakes etc, then interior, body/paint then maybe a few years from now I'll put some money into a different motor.

Finally making some headway on this truck! We got it back on the ground last night and all is well!
New cross drilled/slotted rotors, and full new disc brakes front to back are in and bled also got the new e-brake put in since the previous owner had removed it.... The new master cylinder and proportioning valve look great.
Rear end is done with the new 3:70's and 5x4.5 Moser axles, and we also got it lowered finally, the front is sitting about an inch higher than the rear but I will worry about that more after we drive it a while, it should settle in nicely, if not I'll cut the springs to match the rear. The wheels fit perfectly after much stress on sizing. Wanted to get as big a tire as I could and all the research and RE-checking measurements worked out. 285/40/20 in the rear on a 20x10, and 245/45/20 on the front on a 20x8.5. Ill probably throw a 1/4 or 5/16 wheel spacer out back just to make them look more even, but for now it was hitting the bump stop before the tire.
Rebuilt World Class T-5 is in as well as a Wilwood hydraulic clutch setup. Also the new Patriot Long tube headers are in, still seeing how I'm going to make the 'through body" exhaust work, but we're gonna make it happen. I got the tips from stainless works this last week and they are awesome!
So far so good!!! Next is re-wire the engine bay with a 1-wire alternator, paint the engine bay, clean it up nice, new radiator, and the gauges and finish the exhaust.
Its been a fun winter so far getting the boys back together!
