If you do it this way, you're overall final mixture is going to be LESS than 50/50 -- because draining the system does not get all of the water out of the block.

I did what you describe here, but I included 3 additional fills/flushes with distilled water. And at the end of all that, I then added enough fully concentrated coolant (and NOT the 50/50 pre-diluted stuff) such that, in the end, my final mixture is correct.

I did mine in the summer. And I remember it not being fun -- due to the 100'F temps at the time. Doing it this time of year would be even less enjoyable.
