Fan blower motor

Anyone changed this out have any tips?

Looks like they dont come with a new squirrel cage? I imagine that thing is fragile?

I'm pretty sure they are metal.

Been a long time since I changed mine but if I remember correct just remove fan motor from box -the cage has a E clip ( I think) Remove the clip pull the cage off place on new motor with clip and put back in. The cage is not that fragile or mine was not. Plug in before install and make sure the motor turns the right way. If not reverse the wire on the motor pigtail. ( I had one wired wrong from parts house)

Some are metal some plastic. A new one is about $11.00 at O'Reillys

Yep. if plastic about $10.00 And metal one about $17. At O'Reillys per their web sight. I just double checked

When I changed mine out, I had to wedge it in. You could probably remove some of the stuff in front of the fan but it is possible to get it in there without removing anything.
