Oil leak above oil cooler

The gasket that is between the oil cooler and the oil filter adapter seems to be leaking slightly on the truck in my signature. I have been searching for a replacement seal, but seems you have to buy the whole cooler to get one.

Has anyone had to deal with this and have a solution?

Thanks for any input!

I haven't removed one on a V10 but the others I've had off were just a O rings, the last one was a 460.

I believe I would want to replace the oil cooler with a new one if I had to ever take it off, considering the damage it could cause if it failed internally. That ~$40 part + new seal will buy a lot of peace of mind.

I may just replace the cooler. What sucks is I just flushed and replaced the coolant and thermostat less than 3K miles ago. I guess I can find something clean to drain the coolant into and use it again.

I will wait until I need an oil change to do anything to it, but will follow up once I do.

Thanks for the replies!

Thanks for the reply! Do you have a part number for the gasket?

Thank you for posting the part number. Unfortunately, that is not the gasket I am in search of.

There is only one gasket associated with the cooler.

There is an o-ring between the cooler and the manifold, (I guess that's what you would call it. The gasket you listed is between the manifold and the block. Maybe the set up is different between the trucks and vans. I'm not sure.
