Bellowed up pipes. Seem cheap, are they worth it.

Hey guys.
Looking through the great Ebay and have stumbled on sets of bellowed up pipes for $80 plus shipping. They look ok and come with what I can see everything you need to do the upgrade. Is anyone running these pipes, are they value for the coin or should I just go a set of riffraff pipes.

Thanks for the reply.
What is jet. I’m in Australia so I’m a bit limited to where I can buy as shipping is usually a killer from a lot of places.
Do you run these pipes are they worth the money
cheers

That's $80 dollars for for just the up pipes and $70 for shipping! $150 total of which half is shipping! Personally, not a chance!

Buy from Clay, do it once and be done with it!

Dorman are good, judging by how they look it might be the same manufacture for Dorman.

Yeah I’m thinking for that price they are probably not real good.
Clay has been great to me with orders in the past, I might just get his ones.
It does suck being so far away for parts.
I always have to factor in the shipping costs.
But even with what looks like stupid prices for shipping if I was to buy here it would be even more again.
Ill give you an idea on ford Australia prices.
A GPR here is $440. I paid $40 US posted.
A water pump is $1300 I got one from clay for a little over $130 from memory with shipping was about $200 all up.
I’m lucky it’s not my daily driver and I can have it sit from time to time while waiting for parts.

That's insane! Yeah if you buy cheap ones, and they turn out to be crap... you end up buying them twice.

Yeah. I hate doing things twice. I have always brought the best I can afford.
As we say, buy once, cry once. 😂

There is always a discussion on whether to go cheap and chance the Dorman, or go with the International that have been used for almost 15 years. That aside when you place the two kits side by side there is no mistaking which one is made in the USA and which is out of China. All opinions aside we need to make sure facts aren’t mixed up. Dorman, and all the no name, or rebranded cheap pipes are all from China. International 94-03 and Riffraff Diesel 94- Early 99 are the only manufacturers I have ever seen with USA made bellowed up-pipes. BD has some that are supposedly made in Canada, 99-03, but they are more than International.

Yeah true, a bit extra coin for a quality product will always trump China’s manufacturing and steel quality.
Especially with the uppipes, I don’t fancy doing that job more than once. 👍

I went with the Dorman, but if I were you I would go with the International version from RiffRaff.

Got any welding skills? Can build your own bellows for next to nothing.... Remove the oilite's, flip then, cut and remove what/where needed, and weld in the bellows. Get yourself a set of Chevy exhaust donuts and be done😉... That's just me, if I lived on other side of pond.... But, majority of us are running dormans👍
