Using FORScan to check PCM

Using FORScan to check PCM
I have been playing around with this but still not sure how to go about verifying a problem with my PCM.
Long story short, I have codes for the glow plug control module and the wastegate solenoid that will not go away. Yes, I have verified all the connections, lines, voltages and components. Glow plugs are working as the truck will start in 15 degrees without being plugged in.
Wastegate solenoid and tubes are new. The wastegate will activate when small amount of compressed air is applied.
So is there any way to verify a problem with the PCM using FORScan?
The alternative is to pull the PCM and send it in for testing but that is big money that I don't want to spend unless I have to.
