Hi all, TOO frigging HOT out there for Popa J..40C with the humidex !!!!!. I be hiding in the basement today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a LOT cooler. Well got the NEW roof put on the house. Took a young friend of ours 2 days to strip it, run a 3' strip of ice and water shield around the bottom edge, drip rail it, starter strip and 63 bundles of shingles. BY HIS SELF no less !!! Still waiting for BP to get their act together so we can have the shop roof redone. Had a leak in the ball valve at the well pump inside the house so I decided to have it fixed. Called in the plumber neighbor and he told me the pressure tank was water logged. DAMMM what else can go wrong. He also told me NOT to get one from his outfit as it would cost me $400- $450 but get one from TSC. Got one from them for $280. IT be a 34 gallon one and replaced ALL the ball valves with brass ones. We feed water to 2 other houses and the repair bill is split 3 ways, so that eases the cost a little. Got the insurance involved with the house roof. and got enuff out of them to grab a new wood stove,( The adjuster from the insurance told me to get rid of the old one as there was NO UL tag on it) It was 30 plus years old to. Got the wood stove from Rona and because I had worked there and the manager and I are still on great terms got it at employee cost. They don't make a lot on those stoves OH it's a Drolet " Legend 2" WITH the blower. We also have taken 4 loads of junk to the dump lol All that did was clean out the house garage. SO now we wait for the new windows to arrive and be installed then the aluminum soffetts, facia and 5" eaves troughs with the leaf guard to go up. THAT my friends should do it for the as long as we are around. My good neighbor across the road came over with a BIG friend of his just as the Old girl and I were about to try and unload the stove from the back of the Dodge ( 365 lbs) . Well not only did they take the stove OFF the truck, they took it down stairs, put it in place for us, brought the old stove up and put that AND the old pressure tank on the back of the truck !!! Nice to have good neighbours around. Got to take the old wood stove and pressure take to the scrap yard tomorrow and stop in at my Dennis Carpenter dealer and order up some trim parts. Anti-rattle kits, drip rail trim and the XLT lower tailgate trim. That piece I am going to use across the top to finish the gate off as I am using a hidden gate handle I picked up from NPD a while back. Health wise got the final check from the surgeon on the knee and all is good to go. Gonna try knee pads so I can kneel on the ground for a bit. Well THAT is all for now guys. Enuff already eh?? Y'All play safe and stay COOL

LOL Yepper it IS me. !!! AND YES it is GREAT to have good neighbours that help when you need it. I do what I can for them as well.Yes I have a lot going on and more pokers still in the fire. The old Girl is pushing the landscaping thing now !!! I am glad she has the energy to do this kind of thing, my trick is to sit back assess the situation and then rethink the thoughts you had about it, THEN refer it til tomorrow. Got the truck unloaded at the recyclers. WOW $18 for a steel wood stove and steel pressur tank. OH well it's more than I had when I left the house this morning. That'll go for gas for the ridem lawn tractor. Ordered up some trim parts for the '77. WOW Getting REALLY expensive. Pretty close to $600 CDN for those trim pieces. Pulled 4 wild growing bushes out with the Ram 4x4 and took them into Brussels recycling place. Nice to have a place for that kind of stuff. They make mulch and compost out of the tree trimmings and old bushes and grass clippings. Well, time for a shower (again) and some lunch and a nap !!! Y'all have a great day and play safe. .

Great write up's Pop. I found a spot in Keswick where I take my scrap now. Bit of a drive but my last load netted me $330 for which I would have been lucky to get $35 in Newmarket. I had no idea steel itself was sorted and graded three ways never mind all the more precious types like copper, stainless etc.

I agree with you Dee.. prices vary with scrap dealers. Gerry.. yep gonna take it easy today. Me and my buddy ( the couchterfield) are gonna be pretty close today. lol The old girl is a ball of fire most days. She gets up and makes a list of what she is going to do and strokes it off when it is DONE !!! If she doesn't get through the list she is disappointed!!! I have a list to .. if I get ONE thing done it was a good day. Looks like rain here so that is a game changer. Maybe I'll finish assembling and hooking up the New wood stove. No hurry on that one. lol Y'all have a great hump day and play safe. TTYL
