New transmission suggestions without breaking bank

Hey guys so unfortunately I need a new transmission. Spent all day yesterday researching and trying to find one. Ford HD from dealer is $3900. Most places around here for a remanufactured or rebuilt one are somewhere between $2000-$3000. Any suggestions on any companies? I was told warren diesel by a good company in Alaska but they are 6 hours away and I don’t think I could make it there. Any help would be appreciated. I can only afford around $3000 right now but don’t want a piece of junk either.

Check out 1023 Diesel in Wasilla. https://1023diesel.com/dorsey-diesel...d-up-to-450hp/

The trans in the link is made by Dorsey Diesel in Missouri, but I think 1023 does builds for local customers due to shipping costs to AK.

I called them yesterday because I get a lot of parts from them and they are a great company. They suggest warren diesel which is west of me like 6 hours and idk if I could make it that far.

I'm about an hour from Perkasie. There is a good trans shop around Lansdale, let me see if I can dig 'em up.

I found it, Meenan in Landsdale and here's their website. They appear to be open 'til noon today. They come with high regards from a local mechanic.

I’ve heard bad things about them lately.

Thanks! I actually called them yesterday and he was a really nice guy and was going to look into it for me. He had one of his mechanics pass away two weeks ago so his funeral was this morning but he said he was going to call me back this afternoon even though they technically weren’t open with some options for me. I’d say that’s some great customer service. Also said he built I think two transmissions for a couple big diesel magazines that were featured recently.

If you need help with anything let me know. I know the area to your south fairly well, I delivered it for 25 years. You're right at the northern tip of it though so I don't know as much about north of you.

Thanks man. Looking into the Meenan transmission guy just waiting for him to call be back this afternoon. If he comes up with something I might stick with him and have him do it. Depends on his price also. Would like to get back on the road this week sometime as we were supposed to be in Georgia next weekend but it is what it is.

Shipping to AK has to be costly and time consuming. Do you have a place to remove and install local to you?

We have problems with shipping stuff to Alaska all the time as its either costly or they just plan wont ship it there. im actually in Perkasie PA right now and trying to find one around here. We are down traveling the lower 48 and luckily broke down 10 miles from my sisters house and have been with her since Thursday.
