Special edition all black v10

Hello, not sure if this is the right area to post this but I’ll give it a try. I had someone tell me once there was a special edition of the f250 that has all black exterior and interior and it has a different engine and suspension with increased towing capacity. Called a ebony or midnight or something like that? Very rare, only a few made? Has anyone else heard of this? He kind of lucked up on one and did not know it was a special model until after he bought it. This is an older model.
Thanks

Without seeing it I would have to guess it’s just an xlt sport package that happened to be black, the sport package also came with body colored painted bumpers and door handles, and they could be had with a black leather or cloth interior. That being said you could also get a Harley Davidson edition that was all black with the v10 or the 6.0 diesel and then there was the lariat outlaw I’ve only ever see one of those but I think it is because the interior is so ugly it’s bright red. There was no special engine or a truck with way more towing capacity. But again your not really giving us alot to go off of to tell you what it is we need to see it and know what year it is at a minimum to tell you anything about it. But is it special not likely even the “special” editions weren’t that special.

The only one I know of for sure is the Nite which was an appearance package available on 1991 and 1992 year model F series, but the Ford V10 was not available back then. It was a blacked out color scheme with Nite specific badging, striping, and floor mats. It could be ordered on any body style Bronco or F series truck 2 or 4 wheel drive. The stripes were available from an aftermarket vendor last I checked. There was no special performance package associated with the Nite appearance package.
The Nite preceded the first generation Lightning, which was an appearance package that included a slight performance upgrade.
If your buddy's Nite has a "different engine and suspension" etc. then someone else did it besides Ford.
There were also Harley Davidson Edition F150s and F250s through the years that featured a blacked out color scheme.

Thanks for the replies. Owner claimed only 500 made. It was early 2000 I think. Called a black Beaty or midnight or Ebony? Had much higher towing and considered a collectible. Could have been all bunk?
Thanks

Sounds like maybe the Lariat LE?

The Lariat LE (Limited Edition) was first offered for the 2000 model year F-350 Crew Cab Dually, and featured a special Black Clear Coat with Harvest Gold Metallic two-tone paint job, exterior sun visor with clearance lamps, 16" Polished Aluminum Wheel with Bright Hub Cover, lighted running boards and front and rear leather bucket seats (with special Lariat LE stitching) with dual center consoles; on top of standard Lariat features.Factory integrated fog lamps, power adjustable pedals and a reverse sensing system were added to the list of standard equipment for 2001.For 2002, the Lariat LE was available in two new paint colors. Either Ebony Clear Coat solid paint, or with the distinctive Ebony and Dark Shadow Grey Metallic two-tone. The interior also receive updates for the 2002 model year including a new Medium Flint perforated leather trim for the quad captain’s chairs, and a new look to the wood grain appearance on the door panels and console lids. 2004 was the final model year for the Lariat LE package. The only major changes were Arizona Beige Metallic replacing Dark Shadow Grey on the Lariat LE exclusive two-tone paint job, and Parchment leather replaces Medium Flint.
