Decided to take the peice of plastic that was there off and that was covering a rot hole...my door doesn’t open or close now and my fender is damaged because the door pinched it pretty bad, this won’t stop me from fixing it

Kind of what they look like up here when you find them. If you find them anymore. Usually the cab support is gone as well making the door gap too tight and causing it to scrub on the fender.

Thats pretty bad but not an uncommon place for rust. Time for a donor cab or at least a donor patch panel.

I had a 1st gen Bronco once that was almost that bad and I saved it. But honestly, just from that picture I can tell you the truck isn't worth messing with. Cab needs to be removed, stripped (like media blasted) And you will have hundreds of hours in it by the time you get it right, plus a lot of money in patch panels, materials ect. Or take the money, find one outside the rust belt for less

Mine was as bad, or worse. Your best bet would be to find a truck where that section is okay and cut it out to replace yours. I built my own but it was a lot of work and looks pretty crude. On the other hand, it's sturdy, durable, and held the door securely for 30 years.
