Is it just me? This tool sucks.

Anyone have the $109ish Husky half inch impact gun? I thought my air dryer was keeping it from being a good tool but no, I took that off and it's still a big giant turd. And guess who can't find their receipt.

It's the composite 800ft pounder. My t/case yoke just laughed in my face when I tried to remove it. But previously I couldn't even pull a rusty nut off a sway bar. That was with the dryer on so I figured it was why.

Full 30 gallon air tank at 120psi. Maybe 50ft of hose...

Get what you pay for I guess. Should know by now.

If you wan't a good 1/2" impact for the money check out the AirCat 1150 I have one and it works great, the Earthquake ones from Harbor Freight are also good.

Huskey = subpar.

Honestly the Harbor Freight tools are decent for the price. Not always Dewalt or Snap On quatlity it fits the bill. If I was a full on mechanic that used it every day or nearly every day then, yes, by all means I’d troll the snap on truck.

I was just at the depot when I bought it. Hoping the receipt is at the bottom of the can next to the basement laundry, under all the crap I cleaned out of my dryer's guts when I was figuring out it needs a new motor.

Have heard good things about the earthquake. Aircat I will look into. Thanks for the confirmation and ideas fellas.

a good air tool is worth the money...

and it does not have to be snap-on,
I like I/R. and there air compressors. 3L3SS.

ask someone that works as a mechanic for a living.

Snap on makes decent air tools but Ingersoll Rand makes better ones for half the price. Aircat is comparable to IR but they aren't as well known and are cheaper. I believe IR makes Mac impacts and Aircat makes them for Matco or maybe its the other way around I can't remember.

Found the receipt!! Returned it no questions asked. Mostly. They wanted to know if anything was wrong with it. It was hard not to say its the biggest piece of crap I ever bought. I told them I wouldn't sell this product, and in reply was asked this particular one, or in general.

In general Ma'am.

Receipt was on a dresser in bedroom, not under all the garbage I was heading towards literally at that moment.

For the 'big stuff" I have a IR 1/2"..... it's adjustable from 50 to 250 lbs and has no problem popping the lug nuts off my Mark LT (150 lbs)......it's approaching 15 years old but it's as good as when it was new ..... (I actually bought it from a young mechanic who wanted to change to battery powered......so sad, too bad......no one else wanted it because it's pneumatic...got it for $50)...IIRR, this gun sold new for about $250 in the day.......

Can I hijack? I received a NAPA pneumatic gun from my dad after he liquidated his shop. It's worn out, but I found an online tool resto service that will sell me every part to rebuild. Worth it?

What? 120 psi? Seriously? I have a 150 psi from my compressor and THAT seriously ticks me off. I know how bad it is because I can put lug nuts on at work where they have 175psi and go home with the same impact and can't get them back off. I use the snot out of a worn out IR 231 impact at work and it does fine. At home it's weak and puny. I deeply regret not getting a 175 psi compressor.
