Drivers door harness removal
I'm having the notorious broken wires in the door boot problem. My question is how do you remove the harness from within the vehicle? I took off the kick panel cover (e-brake pedal is in the way), and the end cap of the dash (another metal panel is blocking) but cannot see where it comes into.
A previously (unknown to me) repair was done and it's in bad shape. I think the best course would be to remove it from the vehicle and repair it properly on the bench. I also searched on ebay and other parts sites for pictures of what the harness looks like, but can't nail it down.
I'd like to apologize in advance if this has been covered previously. I did use the search but none of the results nailed down the knowledge I'm seeking. Thank you

You're saying you cannot see the wires from the door and trace them to the first connector?

Sorry, it's a 2007 FX4.
I would like to unplug the harness from behind the dashboard (wherever that connects to) and fix it on the bench. The problem is I can't see or feel the harness connector. I can't tell if its a couple of inches into the frame of the truck, or 2+ feet.

I pulled on it a little bit and a few more wires broke. I got nervous and stopped. I created this thread because I'm trying to proceed as cautious as possible without causing any more unnecessary damage.
