Piston Slap / Exhaust Flutter / Harmonic Balancer????

Hoping for some insight before I deal with Ford Thursday......My vehicle has been in the shop coming up on 3 months now. (2015 w V10) Was told they couldn't figure out what the noise was so they would look deeper in the
engine engine
. After doing this it almost sounds like a Diesel engine running (at idle) didn't even sound like that before?

Next I was told that they was in talks with Ford to see if they would be replacing the
engine engine
....a week later they tell me someone from Ford will come to check this sound out. Now I was told to come in as they have another vehicle with a V10 and want me to compare sounds? (not a new vehicle BTW) So what if this vehicle has the same issue as mine?

The problem - I get a ticking noise ( not a start up and not while at idle or reving the engine) The noise comes at 21k
RPM RPM
really notice it on a slight load / grade. It will do it every time at 21k (65mph-70mph) going up a grade or hill. Has been doing this for awhile....Probably drove 3000 miles like this. I needed to pull a trailer and they told me a couple times to use the vehicle as it would be fine?????? Never had this sound till the
engine engine
reached around 22k miles.
Oil Oil
changed frequent and on or before time (synthetic)

From what I read - this don't sound like piston slap (seems thats what they are leaning toward). Reading threads I have came across Exhaust Flutter & Harmonic Balancer.... Im going there Thursday to listen to this side by side comparison. They obviously want me to think this is "normal"......I don't see how it can be?

Last one....

This is after driving on the interstate for about 30 minutes.
Truck Truck
was nice and warm. Thats what leads me away from Piston Slap - Trucks warm...It don't do it at startup or idle - even raving the engine no noise.

I can't hear too clearly in the video, but I also get a flutter around 2,100 and above. I've always thought it was just the exhaust note though. I don't believe I have any exhaust leaks. Also there's some threads around here about people doing different upgrades to get rid of the flutter (headers and such). Your's could be a different issue though.

I haven't heard of flutter being an issue with the 3-valve V10s.

Also, I can't hear anything in those video clips that sounds unusual. I'll try at home with earbuds later

It hard to diagnose or record because it will only do it while driving. Not while sitting idol or reving.

As said, very hard to hear anything in the video that sounds unusual. Since you said it will only do it while the truck is in motion, are you sure it is an engine noise and not something else in the drive train? Have you tried to get the noise to happen with the truck in drive, your foot on the brakes and rev the engine that way? Are there any performance issues while the noise is happening?

Could be wind flapping something you can't see, possibly underneath the vehicle.
