2019 Chevy Truck revealed

Next Generation 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 TrailBoss Revealed! (Video) - The Fast Lane Truck

At least it looks better than the old one. Ford should still easily outsell it.

Looks like bigger Colorado. The only news that I want to hear from GM is whether or not they are using aluminum.

I recently considered a Silverado until I found the following.
2018 Silverado vs 2018 F150

Silverado has the V8 5.3L generating 355HP @5600RPM, 383LB torque @4100RPM, and 20 MPG highway. Max tow capacity 9000.
F150 with V6 3.5L Eco generating 375HP @5000RPM, 470LB torque @3500RPM, and 23 MPG highway. Max tow capacity 13,200.

I'll be sticking with another Ford. (This will be my 5th)

I agree.

It does look like the big brother of the Colorado.

I believe eventually GM will start using more aluminum in their trucks but it`s going to take them quite awhile to come up with a clever explanation or marketing campaign on why they made the switch. Lol

Looking good. Heard somewhere they would be using "carbon reinforced composite" in the beds. Sounds like plastic to me.

Toyota has been using a composite bed in Tacomas for around 10 years. The bed is fiber-reinforced molding, that is ~~ 1.5" thick honeycomb. I've never seen one broken, and it can not rust. Also, no liner of any kind is required, although my wife's 2010 Tacoma we have fitted it with a bedrug. It's not a bad idea, and so far (to me) it looks like a good idea.

Notice that the wheel well openings are round now. The people have spoken.

The TFL Truck article says "mixed materials" I think GM doesn't want to use the word aluminum after their extensive advertising campaign showing damaged beds and bear proof cages.

As for the carbon fiber composite, I've looked it up. it's very similar to fiber glass reinforced plastics, except that the fiberglass is replaced with random, long carbon fibers in the mix. Unlike glass reinforced plastics, the fibers don't show, since the carbon fibers are much more thinner than glass. From what I've read it looks like a good material. Lets hope a tool box pushed off the bed rail doesn't puncture it...

I also find it interesting that the first reveal of this truck is a factory lifted version with larger tires. Why not reveal the 2wd crew cab that is most likely to be the volume leader?

Interesting how the mirrors are mounted to the door now, rather than the space at the front of the door window opening like trucks have been doing for decades now.

Well compared to the atrocious rolling brick that is the Silverado right now, this looks very good. The GMC version always looks better. I like what they did. I am usually not a fan of breaks in the belt line creases, but it works here with the mirror. I think they did a very good job. Looks most like a Tundra to me with some 2018 F-150 and Colorado front end. Ram is migrating this way too based on the spy shots...

Looks like a Tundra bed and a Titan cab and front fenders behind the front wheels.

Even though I'm a diehard Ford guy I actually like the looks of the truck. I thought I read somewhere that the cab will be aluminum and the bed will be steel.

Like Ford had non steel hoods for years. No matter how much aluminum the put in, it will never be mentioned because they would look bad in comercials. Before my last 4 Ford pickups I drove Chevrolets. At that time they were ez to fix and used the same psrts for years. Ford seems to be more yr specific (sometimes day) but have been very good for what I ask. My son tows his race car with a 2500 super crew with a 496. Killer but can't pass up a gas station.
