I got it in Minnesota so the vehicle has made a long journey in its fifty plus years.
Welcome to FTE!
Looks like a good start to your build, I'll be following.
Are you from Minnesota or just bought the truck there? If so, I'm working on a 66 F250 and might have some parts if you need anything. I'm in the southwest corner of the metro.
Thank you very much for the welcome. I am from Minnesota and I got the truck in southern Minnesota. . I appreciate the offer on parts. I May take you up on that. Also if you need any donor parts that I may just be scraping just ask me and I can work a way of getting them to you.
I have a question for the forum. What would you say is the best way to unseize the distributor in the block? Would like to try and save it until I can find a good engine and tranny to place in here. Thanks.

Nice work so far. I would try to soak the distributor with a really good penetrant after removing the hold down. Let it sit a couple days, then try to move it just a little going back and forth. I'll bet you can get it. But even if you cant I wouldn't junk it. even if it won't come loose, I think you would be able to drive it out after taking apart the engine- which would ruin the distributor, but a lot better than junking a big block!!
I guess you can say we have a little bit of a rust problem with the cab. Thanks everyone with that information. I think I am going to try and save the engine for now if I can get distributor out. The engine will run but just idles at a very low rpms and wants to stall if not running a long time. Might as well get it to run the best I can until I can afford the engine I really want to put in it.
A little more progress getting done. Starting to see the final product come to life. Now need to figure out a motor situation. If anyone in Minnesota or nearby has a diesel motor for sale please let me know.
That rear axle cleaned up very nicely.
Which diesel engine do you want to use? I've been looking for a 4bt for a while and found out they are scarce and expensive. A cheaper option is the Mercedes OM617 which is a very strong motor but limits your transmission options.

@6t6merc thanks about the axle. I'm very pleased with the progress the truck has gained so far. I have been looking at the same Cummings engine and also a 7.3. Both are expensive compared to just getting a 4.6 so kind of torn. Want to keep this build as cheap as possible so scrap yards have been my best friend.
