Post 1994 IDI Turbo 2dr dually shortbed

ok let me start off with the truck. 1994 IDI turbo diesel i bought a few months back from a fairly shady person now that i think about it. Anyway the transmission is slippping not all the time but when i drive it i sometimes have to pull over to get her in gear.too it to the trans shop and he said someone messed with the wiring to the point his code reader wont read. what should i do.

code readers will not read the 94 trans computer.
the trans shop needs a special computer that goes inline between the computer and trans to read trans condition.

thats a long bed. none of the big 3 EVER made a factory single cab short bed 3/4ton.

if its a 3/4 or 1ton and a single cab it HAS to have a long bed unless someone customized it.

some came in ext cab short beds and even late f250 crew cabs came in shortbeds.

also check the TPS on the IP. it needs to read about 1.2 volts at idle and WOT at around 4.3volts.

also check speed sensor in axle (or wires going to it) does ur speedo work ok?

also check MLPS (the switch on side of trans that tells computer what gear its in)

these are all major sensors for the trans.

you have to remember that engine is totally mechanical and that trans is electronic. it needs to know what the truck and engine are doing to work right.

Measure it . That will tell you. I'm sure it's a long bed. But hey it's a ford so you can never say never.

a short bed is 6.5ft, long beds are 8ft.

the difference IS ALWAYS between the axle and cab. that being said, the length of the bed after the dually fender is a huge giveaway.

every 3/4ton truck made from the factory that came in a single cab could only have a LONG BED. ext cab short beds? yes! 4door shortbeds, YES. only single cab short bed 3/4tons trucks out there are custom jobs.

It's totally fine being wrong. Just listen to others who may know a bit.

ya no problem being wrong. im wrong all the time. flipped a switch when he said "honestly i THINK youre wrong"

well thinking and knowing are two things. if im going to call someone out on something i want to be 100% sure about it.

so saying you think im wrong without getting your lazy *** off the computer and measuring your bed or even just googling ford dually long bed you would clearly see its a long bed.

goodluck on ruining that truck, end rant.
