# of blinks with lane change

My Lexus allows user to set # of blinks when turn signal is tapped from 3 or 5 blinks. Our 2017 F350 blinks 3 times after tapping signal light arm when changing lanes. I was surprised yesterday when I noticed that with our trailer attached it blinked 5 Times.

Is there an option to default the lane change blinks to either 5 or 7 blinks from the 3 blink default when not towing?

I believe it can be changed with Forscan.

My truck does the same (5 blinks) with slide-in camper mounted. I generally dislike the programmed blinks, so I usually flick the signal on and off as required. Forscan will let you change the number of preset blinks.

Three blinks is normal, 5/6 with Tow/Haul activated.

You could always run Tow/Haul mode all the time to get the number of blinks you want.

^^^ Same here. Thinking about going to 4 blink w/o trailer. 5 is fine on the highway, but seems excessive in town, where 80% of my driving is done.

I spent too much time in Vancouver where a turn signal was a prompt for the driver in the next lane to close "his" space lest you move into it. So I learned strategic (just in time) signalling, enough to stay legal and make the lane change safely. Sometimes two blinks is one too many.

I increased mine to 7 blinks. I figure if they haven't figured out that I'm coming over by blink 7 they need to be moved out of the way. (just kidding) I feel that the longer number of blinks protect me. I may be in the middle of a lane change and I want the blinkers to keep going so someone two lanes over from my original lane can see my blinkers and know that I'm on my way.

Ha! Know just what you mean - spent much time in BC. Lived in the "other" Vancouver (AKA Vantucky USA) for many years and helped to prepare me for the drivers in TN. Still haven't gotten used to the swerve, blinker, look phenomenon that prevails here yet though.

I tried this today out on the road. 3 blinks w/o tow mode and 3 blinks with tow mode! I tried it on numerous occasions without success, maybe you need a trailer on the hook?

I think you need to have a trailer (or slide-in) plugged in.
