A few weeks ago i also swapped out my rear tank for the 38 gallon one, and replaced both sending units
A tip to make a longer float arm for the big tank is to use copper wire that is close to the same gauge as the stock metal piece. The copper is easier to bend and cut by hand, making it easier to get it to fit right.
As for installing the tank, the only real issue was that the larger tank would contact the square washer things that my tow hitch uses on the frame. So i cut off a small piece of the corner of the tank to make it fit, being careful not to cut into the pinch welds.
Another problem that i had (entirely my fault) is that i tried to redkote the tank, only using one quart... i ended up cleaning that stuff out by pouring about 5gal of acetone in the tank, letting it sit for 3 days, and then using a heated pressure washer to break the stuff up. Eventually it all came back out.
The worst thing about the mod is how much money i am going to spend at every fill up... but thats ok because i only have to fill up half as often as before! lol

Another interesting change is that with the rear tank full the truck rides nicer. I've been driving around with out a bed for a couple months (gonna mount a flatbed on, once I get better at welding..) so the truck has been a pretty stiff ride. But when you fill the tank up it weighs around 250lbs I believe, which softens the ride lol
