New to Forum 2010 Ford F350 KR 6.4
Just joined and excited to learn from you guys...
I recently purchased a 2010 F350 King Ranch with a 6.4 with 89,000 miles.. my last diesel was a 2005 6.0..
After buying the 6.4 I started to search the web for info... my first reaction was to return the truck as quick as possible....
Well, its to late for that...
So the first thing I did was a coolant flush (Changes to Zerex G50), Changed the Rear Diff fluid to Royal Purple, New Air Filter and New Ford Fuel Filters...
I have new front diff oil (Lucas) but haven't had a chance to change yet...
The truck is stock from what I can tell..
It runs great and has reasonable power..
I will be towing at some point.. Landscape trailer with logs.. I own a small sawmill..
I don't beat on my trucks.. And I don't want to add extra HP for doing burn outs....
I ran it yesterday on a 400 mile trip on the Pa Turnpike.. (No trailer)
I got around 19 miles per gallon.. Which is pretty consistent with what I have been seeing on the highway.. It gets around 13 in stop and go traffic around town..
I would love to get some input on EGR/DPF Deletes...
Through my late night web searching I have seen a million different suggestions on which tuner, which delete kit etc.....
I want to do the delete myself and if possible take off the DPF and remove the inners so I can still have a stock look under the truck...
I am leaning towards the Spartan Phalanx tuner or the Mini/Max...
Would love to hear some suggestions....

would recommend
either running 5% biofuel or the seasonal opti-lube fuel additives
not to run extended oil drain interval
deletes and such are fine if your local does not do emissions testing.
if you idle alot for your buisness...get the up fitter switches and install the high RPM idle kit
do not run the fuel tanks down...low tank levels result in execss air entrapment in the fuel...air entrapment throws injector timing off...increases regens.

Delete + mini max with tow tune, add fuel, drive.
I change fuel filters every 10k, oil every 8k-10k, oil filter every 4k-5k.
I recommend Zerex Extended Life ZXED1 which is CAT-1 + distilled after a significant flush with distilled to remove what is in there now. Also might consider adding Fleetguard Restore to your flush. The worst thing you can do with these motors is to mix anti-freeze brands as the oil cooler is a perfect fluid particle trap and can hold a sludge of orange goo reducing surface area for cooling, caused by silicant drop out. Get a scan tool or dongle+app to monitor for codes and also to monitor temps once in a while.

I was the same as you. Was excited about buying the truck and then had a really sick feeling after I bought it. But I think they can be good trucks. Just need taken care of. Awesome truck by the way. I really wanted a King Ranch but couldn't swing it. Got a Latiat instead.
The deletes on mine where done when I bought it. But I have the SCT Livewire tuner, EGR complete deletes, Rivercity EGR delete intake elbow, and a straight pipe to delete the cat and dpf. I personally would reccomend keeping all the stuff you delete. I know a lot of guys get rid of it but if for some crazy reason you need to put it back on purchasing everything again would break the bank. Mine is all up in the attic just in case.
