So basically it is a prototype that doesn't even run. They didn't even finish the engine calibration or do any driving with the vehicle. He says mpg for both gas and diesel are "anticipated" which means they are guessing and have no actual data. I don't know how they expect to get any real horsepower, torque or efficiency numbers to back up their claims when it doesn't drive. It is not a dual fuel engine meaning you cannot switch from gas to diesel and vise versa. You buy the engine made to run on gas or the engine made to run on diesel. Naive investors wanted...
LOL! I wouldn't know what to do with 647hp. That Ford GT only manages 0-60 in about 3 seconds flat and around 212 mph. That's insane speed! I'd have to carry an extra set of boxers with me.
Funny, the GT500 wasn't revealed that I've seen. My son tried to keep up with the auto show, and was relaying stuff to me all weekend. Never heard any info on that 5.2 supercharged. Anyone else see anything?
None of this makes that much sense. Why after Ford has invested so much in the ecoboost line, would they go and put a 7L v8 in a 1/2 ton? And since it's also supposed to go in the superduty you would think that it's going to be an iron block engine, which will add a lot of weight, and Ford is clearly very concerned about weight. Also the article above says it will coming out this year as a 2019 model, I would think we would of heard more about it by now. But who knows

I don't think a Eco Boost will handle the duty cycle of a Super Duty and Fords medium duty F650/F750 trucks.
So what's going to happen to the 6.2 then, because I can't believe they will replace it with the 7L after just 2 years of the new design. Replacing the v10 makes the most sense, but I wouldn't think they would put the replacement for the v10 in the Raptor.
